Ms. Eliyusta is a maritime researcher at Korea Maritime and Ocean University, the Founder and Executive Director of MEO. She also lectures on maritime-related courses across universities in Tanzania and Kenya. Her work focuses on strengthening East Africa’s maritime and inland-water economies. Through MEO, she champions gender-inclusive and sustainability-oriented approaches across the blue economy ecosystem

She holds a Master’s in Public Health, with professional certifications such as NEBOSH HSE training, OSHA First Aid, and NOSHIC I & II. Her background includes leading safety audits, developing and implementing environmental and occupational health policies, and fostering a zero-harm workplace culture.
